Celine Dion invites you to dance via her new comeback single “Dansons” (2026)

I think many of us know what it feels like to bounce back from a difficult period in life. In the case of Celine Dion, the Quebecois queen of power ballads with more than 200 million records sold worldwide, it’s surely devastating once fans all over the world learnt of her diagnosis, which would mean she would have to be out of the spotlight for a number of years. Fortunately, with doctors’ precautions, the right support and timing, she has decided that April 2026 would be the month she’d make a comeback. Oh, what better way to do so with a song that lets you enjoy and dance along to the rhythm.

If you ask me, I’d think that Celine Dion sings better in English, although there’s no denying that she started off her career singing in French. To those used to listening to the works of Jean-Jacques Goldman, you’d have noticed his signature touch and sound. Undoubtedly, it’s not as powerful as songs in her earlier years. However, it’s still effort worth noting.

The release of “Dansons” signifies the starting point of something bigger, her concert residency in Paris as well as preparation for her new album, expected to be out in either late-2026 or 2027.

“Dansons” can be considered some form of waltz as the world over welcomes the post-COVID era, with many ultimately making face-to-face, in-person contact, after a number of years, separated by screens, given the situation at the time that mandated nearly everyone to stay home where possible.

It is perhaps an opportunity to also explore and appreciate nature and the French surroundings, as you can see via the stunning music video, out since 17 April 2026 and directed by Max Allouche.

Via the lyrics, Celine Dion sings and acknowledges that the world is in crisis and hopes that this song will make you loosen up for a bit. Happy dancing!

A new day has come indeed.
