Unsurprisingly, EJAE or Kim Eun Jae has released her debut single to showcase a different side of her – that’s not laced with elements of K-Pop.

Aptly titled In Another World, the official music video was published on 24 October 2025.

While themes of empowerment, self-reflection and self-worth are explored through In Another World in a similar way as Golden or Free from the movie K-Pop Demon Hunters, this time, the lyrics are entirely in English and there’s definitely more emotional depth and introspection in this one.

Let the sounds of the piano captivate you, as you’re treated to a music video that captures footage EJAE’s childhood where she’s usually seen at the similar string instrument, wanting to be a singer, but then ending up as a songwriter, to now, finally being in the spotlight. The past and present are thoughtfully weaved and placed to give you a sense of WOW.

Although initially meant to be about taking a break from a relationship (that’s ultimately mended), this song is really about EJAE’s journey and her storytelling ability, truly moving and powerful – even when there are other storytellers out there within the music industry.

It’s clear that EJAE wants to connect on a global scale – even when K-Pop has already taken over the world. EJAE does not want just fame, as fame is scary and double-edged. The former K-Pop trainee left her training ground as she feels connection matters more now than fame.

EJAE’s involvement prior to this had been pretty much behind-the-scenes work with her writing songs for K-Pop groups like Twice. EJAE is the singing voice of Rumi, one-third of the fictional girl group cum demon hunters, Huntrix in the animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Earlier in October 2025, the original soundtrack (OST) Golden achieved double platinum status, while other songs including Huntrix’s What it Sounds Like and rival Saja Boys’ Soda Pop enjoyed Platinum success after enjoying sales of more than 2 million units and of over 1 million each.

In interviews, EJAE has stated about being more intentional in her artistry, which is felt through the melody, lyrics, from the weight of the song and the visuals of the music video. She has also said that she does not want to limit herself to one particular genre.

In Another World is EJAE’s debut single that’s not part of any album, as revealed by sources.

Alongside EJAE, the song was co-written with Tedy, Daniel Rojas and Breagh Isabel. Along with VITALS as producer, Breagh Isabel and Daniel Rojas also helped produce the song.

In Another World is now streaming on platforms like YouTube and Spotify.
