I had the privilege of witnessing someone’s moment of “I do” via Facebook livestream yesterday night. The simple ceremony was held at a beautiful rustic venue somewhere in the UK. The hosts had friends and family from all over the world including Malaysia. Taking into account the circumstances now, besides the fact that the bride and groom are from different cultures, they both decided to share parts of their big day with those who could not be physically present with them.

It felt like I was there with them. Other than that, here are a number of things I noticed:

• As it was quite a private event, I needed to have the host(s) on my friend list. In my situation, the video was and still is available on the timeline of the host.
• The audio was good enough for me to capture the essence of what was being said.
• Users/ invited guests can comment and react with emoticons and ‘likes’ if they wish to do so.
• Hosts/the person capturing the video can choose when to end the livestream.
• The plus point is you can go back to the (live) video and re-watch at your own convenience and pace.
