Elyshia Abegail might be more well-known in the Malaysian content creation arena, as well as in the modelling world and the film industry. So, her new release and step into the music industry is quite the surprise fans have been waiting for. The 30-year-old is a native of both Sabah and Sarawak, hailing from Tambunan in the former, and a part of the Bidayuh community in the latter.

Abegail, who goes by her stage name Abby B, has said that she drew inspiration for “Bukan Cerita Kita” from a close friend who experienced a breakup. Naturally, there’ll be pain, sadness, grief for all that’s lost. However, through the entire song lyrics, she would like listeners and fans to know that there’s hope even when all seems lost. One must also learn to accept and be honest about where the relationship is going, after a certain point, especially when one party or even both parties can no longer be on the same page.

Part of the lyrics can be translated to mean: Don’t you despair, there’ll surely be a more suitable substitute/replacement, even when a previous relationship didn’t work out. All of us who go through the unfortunate episode will eventually have to find our way out and forward. So, as Elyshia Abegail sings: I can only pray and wish the best for you.
