Yes, you read that right! Can someone get me one, please? I’m in desperate need of a new mobile phone, mainly because I cannot stand the red, vertical line that obstructs part of the screen on my smartphone. Then again, there are many, many things that I miss about once being a Nokia owner. Who can forget the longer battery life? Who can still remember composing her/his own ringtone? What about the deceivingly distracting ‘Snake’ game? Gosh, we need to go back to the days when simplicity was key!
Presenting in the lead-up to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017, HMD Global’s Arto Nummela stated that users of the new mobile phone can now chat for nearly a day! It’s good news for those who can yak almost non-stop! Okay, in case you haven’t heard, the phone won’t be available to our Southeast Asian neighbour. (Sorry, Singaporean residents!) Just by looking at some of the colours of the mobile phone on offer, I know that I’m going to pick yellow for sure! Made your choice yet?
The latest mobile phone which works on the Android operating system lets users surf the Internet, unlike its previous model. Perhaps this was partly why it was taken off shelves five years after its release. Today, it’s not uncommon to get a phone that permits one to surf the Internet for as long as he or she desires. A couple of points to note: it runs on 2.5G and isn’t Wi-Fi-enabled. I’m guessing it’s to cater to areas where Wi-Fi and Internet connectivity aren’t in top form.
This improved model is the first step for Nokia to re-cement its position in the market, staying true to its tagline of ‘Connecting People’ in an increasingly fragmented world. Take your time to browse through the official website of Nokia today and you’ll notice that there’ll be a blue bar at the bottom of the website in which it is stated that the Finnish start-up HMD Global is licensed to use the Nokia brand for its phones and tablets. As a result, a certain amount will be channelled towards Nokia for each unit of tablet and phone sold.
The new Nokia 3310 mobile phone is priced at RM 230, which is much more affordable than a smartphone in the market today. So, if you’re looking to relive the good old days of having a reliable Nokia phone, this mobile phone might just be the answer!
But, but… I still want a smartphone! Okay, okay… fair enough. How about this?
Committed to also improving the health of several communities through the technologies it is developing, Nokia will now unveil its three new smartphones globally. They are Nokia 3, 5 and 6. Earlier, the Nokia 6 was launched exclusively for Chinese consumers.
