Among others, Benedict Cumberbatch is executive producer for his UK-based company. We Live in Time, distributed by GSC Movies in Malaysia, is a romantic drama that tells the poignant story of an up-and-coming female chef and a male representative for a breakfast cereal company, preparing to sign divorce papers served by his former wife. When the two cross paths and learn of one’s diagnosis from later on in the film, they are faced with a difficult decision, choosing between career and the relationship. The film’s plot is nonlinear and will therefore make it an interesting watch. Cast members include Marama Corlett, the Maltese actress-dancer, Florence Pugh, the English actress and Andrew Garfield, who played a supporting role in the 2010 film The Social Network. The film has a runtime of 108 minutes, with an ‘18’ rating and Malay subtitles. On 6 September 2024, the film premiered in Canada at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film began playing in Malaysian big screens from the 10th of October 2024. Audiences in the UK may flock to the cinemas from January 2025 for the release of this movie.
