Fans of musicals, listen up!
What if I told you that you can don your favourite musicals? This comes as Uniqlo under a unique collaboration is to have four beloved musicals and their posters printed on their T-shirt collection, known as the UT, or Uniqlo Tee.
The Uniqlo Tee was started in 2007, bringing the best of pop culture, honouring classic Disney movies, iconic television shows, anime, well-loved artists and those inspiring personalities for their contribution, evoking creativity, nostalgia and laughter amongst those who enjoy the arts.
Among the musicals are The Phantom of The Opera, popularised and staged by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cats, also by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Les Misérables, also the world’s longest running musical.
Despite being in different original languages, English and French, musicals are one way through which a sense of togetherness, belonging and community can be forged. This is achieved via factors like powerful storylines, captivating, inviting, and timeless music and/or soundtrack, and impactful staging and cinematography.
This time, both fans of Uniqlo and musicals may find something in common and wear their hearts on their sleeves. There’s no hiding how you truly feel about this. It’s either a definite yay, or nay.
The new UT collection, Musical Icons, will be out in Spring 2026 and availability is region-based.
