Action-thriller-crime fans, brace yourselves for a plane-hijacking story. Only this time, with a South Korean take. The film is based upon an incident that occurred in 1971, which involved the F27 model of the Korean Air airliner. Originally bound for Gimpo, two passenger plane pilots fly from Sokcho Airport. Passengers are busy boarding, under the guidance of a flight attendant. However, not long after take-off, an improvised bomb explodes, causing panic and chaos. At this point, the hijacker announces that the plane is instead heading in the direction of North Korea, takes control of the cockpit and threatens the two pilots to perform a change of course. As a result of the explosion, one of the pilots loses sight in one eye, leaving the other pilot in a much tougher struggle. The two, however, endeavour to bring the plane to a safe landing. The film, with a runtime of 1 hour and 40 minutes, is directed by Kim Sung-han. Cast members include Chae Soo-Bin of Disney+ series Rookie Cops fame, Ha Jung-Woo, one of South Korea’s highest grossing actors, and Yeo Jin-Goo, who has earned the nickname “Nation’s Little Brother” and acted in multiple television series including “Hotel del Luna”. Distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment, this film has both English and Chinese subtitles.
