‘Lizzie McGuire’ revival series to make debut on new streaming service rolling out next month

How many of you remember the ‘Lizzie McGuire’ TV series that used to air on a certain channel, meant for children? The series first premiered in the early 2000s and continued to run until 2004. In the series, Duff plays 13-year-old Lizzie and is best friends with Miranda and Gordo, who attend the same school as her. In school, the three are faced with issues like teen angst and being bullied by the more popular kids. On top of that, she has her annoying younger brother, and a mother, who means well despite her busybody nature. Oh, yes, who can forget Lizzie’s animated alter ego as shown in the original series?

When the series ended, many fans wanted more. Of course, they got what they asked for, in the form of a movie titled ‘The Lizzie McGuire Movie.’ In line with the news, Duff has been re-watching the original movie with her kids, among other things.

Well, fast forward roughly 15 years later, Duff will reprise her role in the reboot that’s set to premiere on the upcoming streaming service, the latest effort by a popular US-based conglomerate that aims to inform and entertain children and families. 32-year-old Duff is slated to play a 30-year-old who’s in between jobs, living in New York City with her fiance. So far, there is little solid information on whether those playing the roles of Miranda and Gordo will be back for the latest project.

The streaming service, expected to rival other well-known streaming services, is set to be launched worldwide in November 2019.

Duff, who also had a singing career, is more than happy to be back. Duff has dyed her hair ‘Lizzie McGuire’ blonde just for the reboot, according to online sources. Production is said to start at the end of this month.

And while we wait in anticipation, why not rewind and enjoy the theme song of the original series for a bit?
