I was about to ‘pause’ watching episode one of the new season of ‘Sorry for Your Loss’ on the streaming service Facebook Watch when the line “The person who made us in-laws is now dead!” was blurted out (by the brother-in-law of the young widowed woman) – when the two finally met face-to-face at a pub – especially because one party had decided to disappear and go into a period of long silence (No response to texts, calls or voice messages, not around at home). Before you know it, I was done watching the first episode without any break. To date, there are still no advertisements, and the web series is available to Facebook users worldwide. In fact, I was going to watch the subsequent episodes (so far, episodes two and three are also available), but I thought I’d better go to bed.
In Season 2 of the much-debated series about grief and loss, although it’s less intense than the previous season, I can tell that the first episode of the new season is a good start. It’s still moving. It’s just that, for this season, there’s a sense of the young widow moving forward with her life. Of course, there are other characters who try and make things work out for themselves, especially when faced with setbacks. Many other relationships are also explored in this particular season.
From the preview of episode two, the young widow will be spending her first Christmas without her husband by her side. So things are expected to get more interesting as the series progresses.
Note that the strategy used for this season is pretty much the same, with three episodes released on the premiere day, and one episode per week after that. Season 2 was released on 1st of October 2019.
Will there be a Season 3? 4 and beyond? Who knows?
