Her cube sculpture (under the Interactions series) has been chosen by the Moon gallery to be displayed on the moon on the European Space Agency’s Moon-Mars Mission in 2022. She is also currently being advised by Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on the creation of prototypes for the sculpture.

“All of my work is a fusion of multicultural elements. I like to mix ideas be it philosophy or art from different parts of the world combined with a scientific angle.

Most of my painting series are based on waveforms with the underlying concept of duality and interdependence.”

An architect and fashion designer by training, Lakshmi Mohanbabu seamlessly combines elements of art, science and philosophy into her works.

Guided and inspired by research and her travel experiences in everything that she creates, it can take years to finalise an idea, according to this person, who has nearly three decades of experience.

Perhaps, the most striking among all her works is the “Interactions series” – through which she aims to showcase the importance of being integrated and multidimensional – rather than being isolated, especially when you aspire to be more diverse and inclusive.

Most visitors of her ongoing solo exhibition in Singapore, where she is also based, were fascinated by how she was able to integrate the different yet interconnected parts.

In line with her intention to captivate as many senses, she has created jewellery, based on her paintings, some of which are also available at the gallery.

You may view her work at:
