Wands at the ready, Potterheads!
I have some news for you. Thanks to Airbnb, you can now stay at Godric’s Hollow, as seen in part one of Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows. To date, Rita Skeeter hasn’t picked up on this to work on. For the benefit of those who don’t know/remember, Godric’s Hollow was the place where Harry was born, and his parents, Lily and James, were planning to raise him there – unfortunately, Lord Voldermort attacked them. As a result, Potter became an orphan and was brought over to his uncle’s house, where he lived in a cupboard under the stairs.
It must be noted though that the location of this one-bedroom with a shared bathroom is in the village of Lavenham, in the English county of Suffolk. You can now book the place for MYR590 per night. The best part? It’s available for stays for more than 28 days. If you’re planning to stay for a week, a 5% discount is on offer.
The De Vere House, where you’ll be staying, is a former bed and breakfast that held the Five Star and Gold Award.
Oh, sorry – no pets and young children allowed, by the way. In fact, the host doesn’t allow any form of event or party. The host also discourages those who are not as mobile to have a chance of booking, given the layout and age of the property.
If you’re looking for things to do during your stay, there are antique shops and grocers you could drop by. Alternatively, if you wish to relax, you could go to the spa. Beauty therapists and hairdressers are also available. If you like history, you could head over to the two museums and an art gallery.
Amenities include an indoor fireplace (no Floo powder provided), Wi-Fi, an iron, and bath essentials. You will also get to experience an English breakfast during your stay.
Make sure you check in between 5pm-9pm because I don’t think the time-turner would work here though.
