Countdown (2019) – Who’s counting down to the sequel of this movie?

I would be the last person you’d want to invite for a horror/thriller movie. I can’t handle the sounds, amplified at the theatre (because of my silly startle reflex). In fact, I’d much prefer that you invite me for something safer – like a comedy. When something happened to the TV at home one weekend last month, it only made sense why my family and I wanted something to watch. I had a look at the list of movies playing at the nearest cineplex that’s also in a mall. The thing is I was leaning more towards ‘Maleficent’. But then I also saw ‘Countdown’. I didn’t know which one I wanted to watch. I compared both the synopses and for whatever reason, did the unthinkable and booked tickets for the latter instead.

Well, for those who can stand horror-thriller flicks, then, you might want to catch it in cinemas. But hurry, because the timings available are kept to a minimum now. The clocks are ticking fast!

What if an app that can predict how long more you’ll have till the day you die? Does this make you say “Yay, I’d like to know?” Hang on, though. Why don’t you read the terms and conditions first? Oh, I forgot, many of us would usually skip that lengthy bit.
Many of the actors and actresses are unknowns. I’d like to think that the people behind the casting did that on purpose.

Thankfully, there is slight comic relief, provided by the IT guy, who managed to find a way to reverse the timer. Well, I bet you can guess what the IT guy does at some point in the movie if you’re smart enough.

Good luck downloading that creepy app. Trust me, even the notification sounds are scary.
(The marketing team behind this movie actually made an app but there’s a disclaimer that says whatever predicted by the app is purely for entertainment purposes).

But anyhow, if you’re up for this movie, I think you’ll enjoy a second part to this film.
