In theatres now: ‘21 Bridges’ (2019)

I rarely ever book a movie that is action-packed because I can barely stand the volume at the cinema, but since ‘21 Bridges’ looked like one of the more exciting films through my smartphone screen (I booked my tickets through the Touch ‘n Go ewallet app), I went ahead with the booking, knowing just enough about the movie so as not to spoil the fun.

Fortunately, I felt okay 80% of the movie, as there were quite a few family moments that would spur you to reflect on yours. I thought the pacing of the film was too fast at certain scenes, there was barely any time that I could take to appreciate and understand them. But for me, the film still manages to keep you at the edge of your seat, desperate to know what is going to happen next – right until the end.

Chadwick Boseman plays the lead character. His television roles include those on Emergency Room (ER) (1994-2009) and the ‘Law and Order’ series, which ran from 1990-2010.  Sienna Miller… I may have come across her face on the ‘Top Gear’ TV series (though I’m not a big fan of the car-and-bike related series).

You’ll quite likely walk out of the cinema hall a changed person, even if you may not necessarily like the genre of the film. Rated 18, this film is roughly two hours long.
