It’s story time: Thanks to YouTube, Swiss brand, watchmaker able to launch exclusive documentary series with six vivid accounts, shorts
For the first time ever, granted there’s YouTube, the classic Swiss brand and watchmaker is proud to present six moving, colourful and powerful stories through its documentary series. A trailer is also presented to you to also give you a taste of what to expect. Yes, you might be familiar with its logo of a crown – hence the tagline – reach for the crown. The Swiss brand has been known to sponsor sports tournaments and make its elegant appearance as timekeeper through sports events. As a watchmaker, the company is also committed to supporting various athletes who inspire the young to work hard, be excellent, yet also be grounded despite their achievements, those bringing waves of change to the environment, as well as those who are in the music and creative industries.
- As a major sponsor of golf and tennis tournaments, two golfers are featured in the documentary series in two different but equally powerful stories. One is on how Tiger Woods nursed and bounced back from injury, while the other is on a younger golfer who chronicles his achievements and does not forget to thank the people behind his success, especially his close friends and family for their continuous and unwavering support.
- Hannah Mills, the British competitive sailor and two-time World Champion, is another one who’s story made it to the documentary series. Mills is one of the earliest women to participate in a sport of such nature, dependent on weather and tidal conditions. Who else is daring enough to sail boats between 40 miles and 50 miles per hour, especially when everything else is also a race? The watchmaker has its own SailGP, which is the sailing version of the F1 Grand Prix. Mills hopes her story and competitive spirit will inspire other women in the sailing world.
- Yuja Wang’s journey as a classical pianist is surely one to remember because of how musical and powerful it is. Wang was born in China but later moved to North America to pursue her dreams. Wang’s parents’ skills and musical influences surely impacted her as a concert pianist, given that they are a duo of a ballet dancer as well as a percussionist. So, one of her earliest memories was listening to and being influenced by the Russian composer Tchaikovsky and his well-loved work Swan Lake, which is timeless in characteristic – in both the piano-playing and music world as well as the ballet dance arena. Wang became the watch brand’s testimonee prior to 2010.
- Cristina Mittermeier’s story will surely have you wowed. Through her description, you’ll discover that the Mexican photographer is a graduate in science, specifically a marine biologist. Obviously, something occurred to her that made her realise that many do not understand science the way she does. So, that’s what spurred her to be a conservation photographer, taking visually stunning photos of people, objects, and ocean-related flora and fauna species. Due to her extensive knowledge and research, Mittermeier also appears at relevant conferences and talks to spread her wisdom. She has her own way of being vocal about climate change at the right avenues.
