On loop: On My Mind by Alex Warren & Rosé (2025)

What a way to wrap the month of June 2025 with this sombre heartfelt ballad. It is surely a smart move for both of these singers to collaborate. For Rosé, this marks yet another effort, after her idea and work for the trendy and infectious APT. together with Bruno Mars, who was born in Hawaii to parents of mixed heritages including Spanish, Filipino and Puerto Rican.

Not too far off her from her other creative effort ‘Number One Girl’, this time Rosé is once again vulnerable, although in the context of a love song. Even if she comes in later, her impact is still sufficient for the song to be memorable. Her fieriness is surely felt when she sings her solo part(s).

Alex Warren’s voice is quite versatile – if you ask me, I personally prefer his voice when he belts out the later verses, where he goes into this softer, more soothing and higher register. Alex Warren has a baritone voice, although it is said that he had a tenor voice when he was younger.

Rosé harmonises well with whoever she sings with – and maybe that’s why she’s earned the title of South Korean girl with the golden voice.

Both Rosé and Alex Warren wrote the song, although others were also involved like Joshua Coleman or Ammo and John Ryan, who also helped as producers.

The music video is haunting and rustic, which goes very well with the message of the song. The use of a dollhouse, while not new, is used creatively and with a strong purpose to create a sense of longing and nostalgia. Sources indicate that both these singer-songwriters filmed their scenes separately.

Alex Warren has been creating a variety of content on YouTube. With his musical inclination, he is an active singer-songwriter. In February 2025, he released ‘Ordinary’, in which there is a rubber bridge guitar used, giving the impression that it’s a harp when it’s otherwise.
For Alex Warren, this latest song makes up one part of his new album, You’ll Be Alright Kid via his label, which he had signed a deal with since 2022. The album is set to be out in mid-July 2025.

Rosé is the twenty-something of Blackpink fame, born in New Zealand to South Korean parents, but was raised in Australia. In early May 2025, Rosé’s song called ‘Messy’ was released and became a part of the F1 Original Soundtrack, just before the June 2025 releases of the full album and the sports-driven film.
