While on holiday on South Korea’s Jeju Island in October 2019, I noticed there were outlets of this convenience store, which soon became my favourite go-to store for anything related to snacks. Personally, I prefer snacks that are just nice and not too sweet, so it’s easy to say I fell for it instantly. When I say not too sweet I mean four out of five snacks I bought suited my tastebuds, only the pound cake I got was sweet. This got me thinking – if only they can open at least one outlet in Malaysia.
Well, the good news is, someone made this possible – wish granted.
Its first and flagship store will be at a mall located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The owner, a chain of retail convenience stores, is looking to open up to 50 more stores in the Klang Valley in the space of a year. It is going to be interesting to see what’s the response like, considering the (prolonged) situation at present.
You can expect not only a variety of well-known Korean snacks but beauty products as well as those to fulfil your everyday needs.
Here’s to hoping the snacks and whatever offerings on the shelves will be as authentic as the ones I had tasted in South Korea.
You (and I) are going to find out this 1 April (2021)!
