Connie Francis was hospitalised weeks ago, a week after suffering a fracture in her pelvis. Media reports also informed that Francis was undergoing tests to determine the cause of her severe pain.
However, as at press time, fans would now have learnt of her passing.
Her planned comeback since stepping away from the limelight in 2018 will never materialise.
Earlier in July 2025, after observation in the hospital, Francis shared that she was doing much better.
Francis was known for her infectious songs like Stupid Cupid. With the help of social media channels like TikTok and Instagram, Pretty Little Baby went viral, more than six decades after its initial release. Francis expressed her gratitude over the fact that the song will live on through different generations and how they appreciate it. Francis admitted, however, that she has forgotten the song. Pretty Little Baby was recorded in seven different languages, including French, Japanese, and Spanish.
Francis had also joined TikTok, thanks to her publicist’s son who helped her set up the account.
Francis, born Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero, sang a variety of genres, including jazz and rock ‘n’ roll.
Prominent songwriters Francis had worked with include Neil Sedaka, who is also a pianist, as well as Howard Greenfield, who is a lyricist.
Francis had varying degrees of success as a vocalist, as the British Invasion heavily influenced music trends up to the mid-1960s.
Francis acted in Rock! Rock! Rock! and Jamboree as well as a number of other film and television programmes.
Francis is survived by her only child.
