Craig David surprises fans with new R&B effort with JoJo, popular among the millennials

Craig David, the English singer-songwriter and rapper, returns with a love song that’s also a collaboration with JoJo, the American singer-songwriter with mixed ancestry including Polish, French and Native American. These two voices have set the bar for the R&B scene, rising before there was YouTube and Spotify, music streaming services that take away the need for cassette tapes, the Walkman compact discs, pen drives, and even the iPod.

The new song features a common melody and beat, used in lots of pop and R&B songs, making it one of those songs that you’d listen to in the car on the way home, perhaps. Titled 'In it With You', it can be taken to mean teamwork and support for each other to make things work.

The music video corresponds well with the relaxing, easy-listening tempo of the song by featuring trees and a bench at a park, relatable when a song seems to point to a relationship and its maintenance.

This new track/single will form a part of David’s new album ‘Commitment’, scheduled for an early-August 2025 release.

While it is considered a surprise to many fans, this collaboration feels slightly toned down compared to Craig David’s previous work like ‘Rise & Fall’, in which English singer-activist Sting was also featured. David’s other notable tracks include ‘7 Days’, and ‘Walking Away’, for which the French version features Lynnsha or Sophie Jordier, a former lead chorist.

JoJo has graced both the pop and R&B scenes with her hits like ‘Leave (Get Out)’, ‘Too Little Too Late’, ‘How to Touch A Girl’, and ‘Disaster’. JoJo’s battle with her label meant she was unable to release new music for five years, despite having many recorded. In 2014, JoJo moved to another music label, which allowed her to have songs like ‘Say Love’.

Outside of the music industry, JoJo has had a number of acting opportunities, including Aquamarine & RV. In 2023, she played the role of Satine in the stage musical version of Moulin Rogue for Broadway, marking her debut on New York’s commercial theatre and amusement world.

The music video has been out on YouTube since 11 July 2025.
