The energetic, genre-blending pop-rock-hip hop trio Tilly Birds from Bangkok, Thailand is back with their hit, “I’ll Remember to Forget You”. This comes on the back of the release of the band’s new album, having the same title.
Though Thai by heart, the trio had kicked off by singing songs in English. Then, by demand, they sang songs in Thai, before going back to how they first started. The band was form in 2011, then later moving into the Thai market until 2017, before returning to how they started off in 2025, appealing to the international market.
The influences of K-Pop and hip hop are strong in this song, although of course, it sounds a lot like the modern alternative rock music we get today, through all possible audio platforms.
The band, consisting of Third as the main vocalist, guitarist Billy and Milo, the drummer and the one providing backing vocals, is signed to Thai record label and entertainment agency GeneLab.
The melody and the lyrics are relatable, even if it may just be another post-break-up song. Those who have experienced the loss of a (cherished) relationship will be familiar with the feeling of waking up, sad, likely experiencing a different kind of sleep health, should the result of the break-up affect you in a detrimental way. Of course, there are those who can take breakups positively. However, in this case, the lyrics cut deep. Acknowledging the unhealthy state of the past relationship, Third sings - Don’t make me go back. The paradox of “remembering to forget” is greatly explored in that forgetting requires frequent recollecting of memories.
Beyond that, the song is a reminder that healing is different for everyone, and is a non-linear process. You should take your time to grieve accordingly – without anyone forcing you to quicken the process.
The versatility in tone and vocal dynamics is clearly felt in the later part of the song, which is why this song is appealing.
So far, the official visualiser for the song has been out since 30 January 2026.
The band’s latest album contains 13 tracks.
