To (re-)watch via online streaming: Old and new flicks

image

Out of curiosity, I went on the Internet to scroll through a newly-launched on-demand online streaming platform, which is a privilege that comes with our existing pay-TV subscription (at home). After dealing with the technical part, I found myself re-watching episode after episode of a TV drama I actually stopped watching (back when it was on pay-TV).

I now know there’s seasons 1-4 of ‘The Resident’ (Jan 2018-May2021) on it. Set in Atlanta, the hospital featured in the show is fictional. From the latest news, season 5 (Sept2021) will be out soon for viewers and/or subscribers in the US. I’m almost done with watching seasons 1 and 2. The TV series is based on the book ‘Unaccountable’, written by a professor, surgeon and author.

‘That’s So Raven’ was one of the TV sitcoms that I used to look forward to after school. The opening theme of the show gives me a sense of excitement. Sources reveal that there were other spinoffs, one of which is available for your streaming pleasure.

From the synopsis, ‘Spin’ (2021) sounds like a good original film to watch.

‘The Art of Racing in the Rain’ (2019) was one of the films, released in cinemas, that I didn’t get to watch. So now that it’s available for streaming via subscription, I’m looking forward to watching it.

‘McCartney 3, 2,1’ (2021) is available for streaming – what seems like a short, episodic documentary. Fans of The Beatles might want to look into this.
