Tilly Birds, the Thai music trio, is one of those featured via a digital concert series thought out by a Singapore-based bank. The three of them are from different musical backgrounds, yet when they sing live together, the result is quite a beautiful blend of melodies, beats and harmonies.
The digital concert series, aptly named UOB Afterhours, transforms banking outlets and private bank suites across Singapore - after the usual business hours - into locations for artistes across Asia to promote their work and showcase their musical aptitude, confidence, and style.
In 2025, the well-established financial institution celebrated 90 years of service. As a forward-looking entity, the bank is always looking for ways to connect with the young and old, widening their digital presence. It’s therefore fruitful that to see UOB Afterhours come to life, amongst other initiatives like the UOB Gallery, which takes you through the bank’s history as well as the SGD30 million pumped into education for qualified ASEAN scholars and students.
The Bangkok-based indie pop-rock band was formed by Anuroth Ketlekha (Third), who provides lead vocals and Nutdanai Chuchat (Billy), the keyboardist and guitarist. Their band name is a cheeky play of words, hence “Tilly Birds”. They eventually had a third, fourth and fifth member. However, out of the three other members, only Thuwanon Tantiwattanaworakul (Milo) (drums, backing vocals) stayed on.
They would initially appear in local Thai reality TV shows, where they would hone their skills and talents. They have been active since 2011.
Third is the divo-ish, soulful lead singer, who is the lyricist and director of the band’s music videos. Billy’s skills as a former YouTuber turned guitarist/producer is the one producing the songs. Milo is the drummer, music arranger and rapper.
In this live version, put up on various social media platforms, including TikTok and YouTube, you can enjoy the calming voice of the lead vocalist. Who knew the highlight would be when he goes into his high-pitched voice?
The Thai market normally operates and functions monolingually. So, this is definitely good to know, especially with Tilly Birds seeking to look beyond their own grounds by singing in English and doing it almost flawlessly for the app-driven and TikTok generation.
Music usually connects fans across the globe and this Thai trio wouldn’t do wrong by singing about self-discovery, their youth, and love – even if it’s cliché.
The performance was recorded at one of the banks’ Private Bank Suites.
On YouTube, where the live performance video is also posted, the video has garnered 500,000 views since it was published in October 2025.
The bank’s founding father was a Sarawakian Hokkien and in his bid to gain more Hokkien clients, he looked to build his base in Singapore, citing the country’s economic environment and position as a global financial centre.
