Now (re-)playing: “Give Me Your Forever” (2021) by Zack Tabudlo

In light of recent events as reported in the local Malaysian media, punctuated further by social media accounts of media outlets and the couple themselves/the couple’s social media team, it won’t be surprising if “Give Me Your Forever” (2021) sees a rise in popularity once again, especially from yesterday onwards - given that a local Johorean Member of Parliament used a tiny portion of it in his video update pertaining to the most courageous proposal in Malaysian history, considering he reached the mountaintop of Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, and even braved the rain to propose to a strong woman, who is also a mother of two (as a result of her previous marriage). Mind you, she ain’t just any woman – she’s a singer, model-actress, known in Southeast Asia, who has been working hard, whether in modelling or singing, and also enjoys doing charity work.

“Give Me Your Forever” was a 2021 release by Zack Tabudlo, a Filipino singer-songwriter, who hails from a musical family. Tabudlo’s father was in a band, formed during his college days, while his mother, a hotel singer. Tabudlo’s grandmother and sister had certain aptitudes in singing.

The chorus, simple and straightforward, could be what prompted the Member of Parliament/his social media team to use the song in his update. And naturally, hopefully, more listeners are going to decide whether it’s worth (more than) a listen.

Directed by Enzo Valdez, the accompanying official music video introduces an elderly couple, who is presented in a play-like format, of how they first met as well as other stages of the relationship, before finally coming together, married.

Tabudlo has powerful, soulful vocals, and through the chorus, you can listen to his pitch – from low to high, then high to low. Tabudlo was a contestant on The Voice Kids Philippines before. However, he was eliminated, after a while. In 2025, he returned as a coach for the same show, stepping is as a coach and mentor to other young artists.

The track is part of “Episode”, Tabudlo’s debut album. Prior to the release of his debut album, he was ghost-producing for two years for a variety of foreign artists. Due to his sound, Tabudlo got an offer for residency in the US. Tabudlo declined the offer to focus on writing hits that would cater to the audience of his homeland.
